Biography
Abbas Kiarostami was an Iranian film director, screenwriter, photographer, and film producer. An active filmmaker from 1970, he was involved in the production of over forty films. He received critical acclaim for directing the Koker trilogy, Taste of Cherry — winner of the Palme d’Or — and The Wind Will Carry Us.
Beyond cinema, Kiarostami was a poet, photographer, painter, illustrator, and graphic designer. His photography exhibitions were shown at major galleries worldwide, and his poetry has been translated into numerous languages.
