Forty directors from around the world used the restored 1895 Lumière brothers' Cinématographe camera to film forty shorts, each lasting 52 seconds. Lumière and Company proves that the challenge of creating a hand-cranked 52-second movie using natural light and without sync sound remains a goal worth pursuing.
